Chapter RegentLong Leaf Pine Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, was organized on February 6, 1935, in Ruston, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana. Mrs. J. Harris Baughman was then State Regent of the Louisiana Society and Flora Evans Bowers was the organizing regent of the chapter.

It is believed the chapter was named for the long leaf pine tree that was being re-established in Louisiana after years of massive clear cutting.

During its early years, the chapter helped in furnishing the dining room of Oakley Plantation House in St. Francisville and helped with the restoration of Fort Jesup.
